College Racism in Generation X

Today generation x'ers face many problems. One being the issue of racism on college and major university campuses. There are several issues that cause racism on our college campuses today.

Problems

1. Affirmative Action: I encourage you to check out my page on Affirmative Action and the two links connecting to relating sites.

2. Grading: many students have racial opinions of some form as well as teachers. Students have formed a habit of believing that if a professor gives you a certain grade it could be because of your race. Another reason students tend to be racist is because if the were to write a paper on their beliefs about certain issues, (such as affirmative action) the majority of their grade may be how the instructor feels.

3. Groups and Clubs: This is another issue that can trigger racism. There are some clubs and groups who do a considerable amount of judging an individual on the basis of race.

Solution

1. In grading a professor should grade on the work other than the opinion. I am not accusing anyone but I here complaints about it going on. On the other hand the student should be credible to the opposing sides of a racial argument. I think the issue of groups and clubs run along the same lines as affirmative action. A person should not be judged by there race, but by the person that they are.
